Help us raise funds for our fight to conserve 625+ acres of forest
For more than two years, Stop Zena Development has been fighting to save 625+ acres of high-quality forest in Woodstock and Ulster. The coalition, formed by the Woodstock Land Conservancy and concerned community members, successfully deterred the developers’ original plans for an enormous golf course, helipad and rental villas. Now, SZD is working to prevent Zena Development’s proposed luxury subdivision of million+ dollar houses in the middle of a wildlife corridor, directly below the beloved Israel Wittman Sanctuary. As SZD’s work continues, legal fees are mounting. We are asking the community to join us for our spring fundraising effort: an evening with Bread & Puppet Theater!
Stop Zena Development is very excited to bring world renowned theater company Bread & Puppet to the Woodstock Playhouse on April 18th at 7PM. Currently embarking on their 63rd year of touring, Bread & Puppet will present The End of the World Never Minding Show, an urgently-needed new puppet show featuring our upside-down situation, a revolt orchestra, screaming choirs, and a reckoning with the catastrophe of logic.
Bread & Puppet describes its shows as "political and spectacular." Current national and global events -- like militarism, capitalism, ecology, Gaza and Iran -- may be featured in the performance. Click here to learn more about Bread & Puppet’s history and mission.
