Who We Are & Why We Care

Stop Zena Development is a partnership between the Woodstock Land Conservancy and concerned community volunteers. We believe the proposed development by Zena Development LLC would negatively impact habitat in the eastern Catskills region and put the safety of the Woodstock and Ulster community at risk.

Adjacent to the Sawkill and Esopus Creeks, Bluestone Wild Forest, Israel Wittman Sanctuary, and the City of Kingston Reservoir, Zena Development’s 625 acre property constitutes the largest remaining unprotected parcel in Woodstock. The project includes land that has been designated a Critical Environmental Area (CEA) by NYSDEC because of its importance to the protection of water resources, biodiversity and unique habitats.

Please join us in our mission to preserve the unique character of Woodstock for future generations.
